Matamata Trackwork Tuesday 18 October 2016: Recorded by Dennis Ryan
18 Oct 2016

Heavy fog prevented the timing of any gallops at Matamata this morning when a number of horses with important Labour Weekend engagements were put through their paces.

Among those to impress as they completed their work were Abidewithme and Zambezi Warrior, who worked against the rail of the course proper where the going was in the Slow7-8 range ahead of tomorrow’s race meeting.

The Stephen Autridge/Jamie Richards-trained pair will line up at Ellerslie on Saturday, while their stablemates Vinevale and Princess Davone also did solid work in preparation for Pukekohe on Friday.

Rocknrolla, who has come through her Taranaki Breeders’ Stakes third in good order and will run in Saturday’s Thompson Handicap at Trentham, was paired with Ellerslie entry Ultimata.

Realta and Pure Lorde also appeared to complete their work strongly as they prepared for Te Rapa next Monday. Others to get through sound work on the course proper were Eletist (Ellerslie Saturday), Infinite Choice (Pukekohe Friday) and Sound Proposition.

Among those whose work on the all-weather track looked good were Amarula and Matuzelam.
