In A Twinkling looked all set for Saturday’s Waikato Cup assignment when he galloped impressively at Matamata this morning.

Working 15 metres on a dead course proper, In A Twinkling had raceday rider Troy Harris in the saddle as he and fellow Te Rapa candidate Mazzuro (Bosson) worked over ground, covering their last 1200m in 1:20.3, 1000m in 1:05.7 and the final 600m in 37.7. The Jamie Richards-trained pair finished their work well.

Yearn (Tynan) also suggested she can take her Pukekohe form to Te Rapa for the Cal Isuzu Stakes as she hit out boldly over 1200m in 1:16.2, 1:02.9 and 37.6. Karen Fursdon has the Savabeel mare in great condition.

Joe’s Legacy (T Harris) impressed as he prepared for the R72 2400 at Te Rapa, partnered by Arcadian (Burdan) over 1200m in 1:20.4, 1:03.9 and 36.8. Promising filly Lilikoi (T Harris) shaped up well for Saturday’s Eulogy Stakes at Awapuni with a smart solo gallop over 1000m in 1:04.5 and 36.7.

Jewel Of Patch (Yanagida) was another weekend entry to impress with 1200m in 1:22.8, 1:07 and 36.8. Pinmedown (Lammas) hit the line strongly as she prepared for the Cal Isuzu Stakes with 1200m in 1:21.4, 1:07.2 and 38.5.

Scott Base (T Harris) shaped up well for Te Rapa as he and Tauranga Friday entry Weaponry (Bosson) cut out 1000m in 1:04.8 and 36.7. Tauranga candidates Salt Bay (Lammas) and Let Me Tell Ya (McCall) did sound work over 1200m in 1:23.8, 1:06.5 and 38.

Katie Perrie (J Collett) impressed as she and Son Of Sasanof (R Jones) strode over 1200m in 1:18, 1:04.1 and 37.5. Mongolian Conqueror (Burdan) did similar work over 1200m in 1:18.8, 1:05.5 and 37.8, while La Mia Stella (T Johnson) and Flying Trapeze (Wratten) recorded 1:19.9, 1:05.9 and 38.4.

Candid Camera (Fawcett) and Our Alley Cat (S McKay) looked promising as they cut out 1000m in 1:03.8 and 37.2. Over the same distance On The Rocks (Coleman) enjoyed himself when recording 1:05 and 36.8, Star of Bombay (Bosson) and She’s Not Bad (Burdan) took 1:06.6 and 37.7, Harlow (Roustoby) and Challa (Diego) 1:08.4 and 37.8, Marmellos (Lammas) and River Of Hope (McCall) 1:08.2 and 39, and Probabeel (T Harris) and Awareness (Burdan) well held in 1:12.9 and 41.2.

On the sand Jamieson’s Tipple (P Turner) and India (Grylls) cut out 1000m in 1:04 and 37.4.
