Shoshone confirmed her readiness for Saturday’s home track meeting when she worked in dashing style at Matamata on Tuesday.

Galloping against the rail in the six-metre position where the ground was slow, Shoshone (S Collett) had pace on throughout 1000m, running the distance in 1:03.4 and finishing off impressively with a final 600m in 36. The Kelso-trained mare is in the right order to complete a hat-trick on the weekend.

All other course proper gallops took place wide out with the markers set at 20 metres. Local entries Romantic Lady (T Harris) and Red Chois (C Grylls) were paired in good work over 1000m in 1:06 and 38.6, while Suliman (K Singh) and Garnet (Wratten) had a solid hitout over ground, the last 1200m in 1:23.7, 1:08.5 and 39.6. Ana Zorra (S Singh) followed her stablemates in 1:24.4, 1:09.3 and 39.3.

Lavaglo (Miller) and Yamuna (Newman) did sound work together over 1000m in 1:05.9 and 38.7. Over the same ground last-start winner Prosperous (C Grylls) and Lord Painton (Ravi) recorded 1:06.8 and 39, while Rukuhia (Fawcett) and Rock Show (Leighton) took 1:07.5 and 38.9.

Codecracker (S Collett) maintained an even rate in solo work over 1200m in 1:20.2, 1:06 and 39.4, while Autumn Wild (Hepi) and Wild Seas (Yuto) were timed from the 800m in 53.8 and 38.9. Glen Frey (Ravi), who will be entered for Matamata Saturday and Te Aroha Sunday, left 1000m behind in 1:07 and 39.4.

Over ground Al Haram (M Grylls) and Bak Da Master (Roustoby) were timed over their last 1200m in 1:20.2 and 39, followed in similar time by Richard of Yorke (Montes de Oca). Katie Perry (J Collett) went solo over 1200m in 1:22.8, 1:08.6 and 39.2.

Over 1000m Soda (D Weatherley) and Makaraka (S Weatherley) cut out 1000m in 1:06.5 and 38.8, Baby Cheeses (McCall) and Targhee (Lammas) took 1:08.2 and 38.3, Johnny Redmond (Miller) and Mr Gibson (Pinn) 1:08.9 and 39.4, and Kelly Renee (Loon) and Sailor Jerry (Kareem) 1:07.2 and 40.4.

On the No. 1 sand Waikato Hurdle winner Tommyra (R Cole) underlined his fitness for the Awapuni Hurdles when he strode boldly over ground, with his last 1200m in 1:17.2, 1:03.8 and 600m in 37.

Sagunto (S McKay) was also impressive in his work over 1000m in 1:02 and 36.6, as was Teen Titan (Fawcett) over 1200m in 1:22.8, 1:08.4 and 39.8. Aero de Paris (Yuto) took 1:04.5 and 39, for 1000m, and Le Sablier (S Weatherley) 1:09.8 and 40.3.

On the No. 2 sand Lementis (winter) prepared for Matamata with a smart 1000m in 1:03.2 and 35.6. Western Girl (C Cole) and McGowan (McCall) ran the same distance in 1:05 and 36.8, Suntory Lady (R Cole) 1:04.3 and 37.3, Sheezallmine (Newman) and La Romanee (Pinn) 1:04.8 and 36.6, and Tweedledee (Yuto) 1:03.4 and 37.6.

Others timed over 1000m included Lily d’Or (Dellow) in 1:07.2 and 39.2, So Serios (Fawcett) and Fleurgundy (R Cole) 1:04.4 and 37, Craft Eva (McCall) 1:04.9 and 39.2. Slinky Linky (Dellow) covered 1200m in 1:16.8, 1:09.6 and 39.8, and Master Marbridou (M Brosnan) 1:19.5, 1:04.6 and 37.2.
