Yearn was in good form at Matamata on Tuesday as she prepared for Saturday’s Pukekohe meeting.

Galloping on the plough, Yearn (Tynan) was in her usual enthusiastic mood as she rattled off a smart 1000m in 1:03, finishing with a final 600m in 35.9. The Karen Fursdon-trained mare has benefited from two recent runs and is in good order for the step up to 1600m in the Karaka Classic.

Race rivals In A Twinkling (Bosson) and Te Akau Caliburn (Burdan) also got through their work well, cutting out 1200m in 1:18.2, with the last 1000m in 1:02.8 and 600m in 36.4. Landry (C Cole) and The Helix (S Weatherley), who head to Awapuni on the weekend, cut out a smart 1000m in 1:02.5 and 36.4.

Sheezallmine (Miller) caught the eye as she prepared for the feature sprint at Pukekohe with 1000m in 1:00.8 and 35.7. Pukekohe candidates Super Hoof (Burr) and Caballero (Fawcett) were paired in solid work over 1200m in 1:18.7, 1:04 and 37.6.

Weaponry (Bosson) and Star Of Bombay (T Harris) ran their 1000m in 1:04 and 36.8, while Paris Ruby (C Cole) and Rhapsody In Blue (Roustoby) returned 1:02.8 and 36.5.

Melody Belle (T Harris) looked in great heart ahead of her Melbourne sortie as she strolled over 1200m in 1:20.8, 1:04.8 and 39. Stablemate Bak Da Master (Roustoby) got through his 1200m in 1:18.2, 1:03.8 and 37.4.

Awapuni entry Cavallo Veloce (S Collett) cut out 1000m in 1:02.9 and 36.7, Hay Tiger (Fawcett) and Pacific Master (Burr) took 1:03.4 and 36.8, and Mongolianconqueror (Montes de Oca) and Secret Amour (Roustoby) 1:05.7 and 36.8.

Maasir (Bosson) and Aromatic (A Jones) strode through 1200m in 1:18.8, 1:03 and 36.4. In easy 1000m workouts Spring Heat (Hepi) clocked 1:10.8 and 42, Aero de Paris (Yuto) 1:10.5 and 41.8, and Tonya (S Collett) and Les Crayeres (Cox) 1:12.2 and 41.

On the No. 1 sand Wolfgang (S Collett) and Iron Eagle (Danis) were timed from 800m in 49.8 and 36.4. Red Hussar (K Singh) left 1000m behind in 1:06.8 and 39, while Teen Titan (Fawcett) returned 1:12.5 and 40.2.
