Entriviere confirmed her well-being ahead of Saturday’s J & N Berkett Telegraph when she galloped pleasingly at Matamata on Tuesday morning.

Working on the plough, Entriviere (Bosson) was never at top as she left 1000m behind in 1:04.3, quickening readily for a final 600m in 36. The Jamie Richards-trained Railway winner has done everything right since her Ellerslie win and is a justified favourite to complete the big sprint double at Trentham this weekend.

Race rivals Levante and Roch ’N’ Horse both did solo work against the rail of the course proper, which was dead. Unfortunately heavy fog came down shortly beforehand and prevented any timing. Both mares were ridden by Cameron Lammas, who reported that they acquitted themselves well and were likewise heading south in good order.

Roch ’N’ Horse’s stablemate On The Rocks (Lammas) did sound work over ground on the course proper ahead of Saturday’s Trentham Stakes, while the only course proper gallop that could be timed before the fog came in was Trentham entry Monza (Saxon), paired with Stallone (S Weatherley), who impressed as they cut out 1000m in 1:06.3 and 37.2.

On the No. 1 sand Joe’s Legacy (K Price), who is entered for the Anniversary Handicap at Trentham, strode into his work well with a final 1000m in 1:07.2 and 39.

Back on the plough, Wellington Guineas rivals Shepherd’s Delight (Durrant) and Wairau Cove (Bosson) worked soundly over 1000m in 1:03.4 and 36.4. Shepherd’s Delight looks improved for her recent fresh-up third, while Wairau Cove has made good progress since his last-start maiden win.

Lily’s Lady (B Grylls) and Cincoro (C Grylls) did good work ahead of Tauranga on Friday when paired over 1000m in 1:02.4 and 35.8. Another to impress for Tauranga was Highlighter (Kumagai) in her work over 1000m in 1:03 and 36.4, while stablemates Cha Siu Bao (Leighton) and Oxygen (Kumagai) ran the same trip 1:03.4 and 36.5.

Hanalei (Kamaruddin), a possible runner in the Wellesley Stakes at Trentham, went with Tauranga juvenile candidate Time Ruler (C Grylls) over 800m in 50.6 and 37.8. Felicienne (T Harris) prepared for Tauranga with solo work over 1000m in 1:05.8 and 37.5, Mister Reliable (B Grylls) covered the same ground in 1:05.4 and 38, and Brimstone (Newman) and Cote de Beaune (Bosson) took 1:04 and 37.2.

North Of Havana (Wratten) left 1000m behind in 1:07.8 and 39.6, while The Buzz (J Price) was strong at the line after 1000m in 1:06.6 and 38.5.
