Shoshone and Alchemia prepared for Saturday’s Pukekohe meeting with impressive work together during a relatively quiet session at Matamata on Tuesday morning.

Galloping 28 metres out on the soft course proper, Shoshone (Lammas) and Alchemia (Yanagida) were well matched over 1000m in 1:08, finishing off strongly with a final 600m in 38.8. Noted wet-track performer Shoshone, who has not been out in public since November, is entered for the open 1100m at Pukekohe, while Alchemia will be out to complete a hat-trick in Saturday’s Rating 74 sprint.

Aero de Paris (C Grylls) also looked ready for his Pukekohe assignment when he cut out a solo 1000m in 1:07.4 and 38.6. He will kick off his winter campaign after two unplaced trial runs.

Last-start winners Seajetz (Prastiyou) and Hovdamer (Farr) prepared for Pukekohe with 1000m in 1:09.5 and 40.5. Over the same ground Rockspell (S Weatherley) was keen early on his way to recording 1:06.6 and 39.3, while Star Treasure (Yuto) took 1:10.4 and 39.8.

Pukekohe maiden entry Gimmeallyourlovin’ (B Grylls) worked well with Iffshecan (Yanagida) over 1000m in 1:12 and 39.6. Corinne (B Grylls)left 1000m behind in 1:08.4, with poor light preventing any sectional split, while stablemate Rosberg (completed striding work over ground.

Channel Surfer (Fawcett) who will start next in the Castletown Stakes at Wanganui next week, was accompanied by Angelica (Kareem) in steady work over 800m in 59.6 and 44.5.

On the No. 2 sand, Up ’N’ Gone (Sanson) looked sharp for his Pukekohe assignment when cutting out 1000m in 1:04.6 and 36.8.

Lingjun Xiongfeng (Lammas) and Keep It Loose (Yanagida) went together over 1000m in 1:08.8 and 39.4, while The Master (M Brosnan), who did well for fourth on debut recently, ran the same distance in 1:06.6 and 38.5.
