Bonny Lass looked on song for her return to action at Pukekohe this weekend when she galloped stylishly at Matamata on Tuesday morning.

On the soft course proper, where the markers were at 28 metres, Bonny Lass had raceday rider Triston Moodley in the saddle over a well-run 1000m in 1:02.2, finishing off impressively in 36.2. The Richardson/Norvall-trained mare hasn’t started since finishing third at Te Rapa back in mid-September, but was an easy trial winner a fortnight ago.

Brando (Bosson) also looked well when preparing for Saturday’s TAB Classic at Trentham over the last 1000m of his work in 1:06.5 and 38. Stablemates Captured By Love (Bosson) and Donna Chiara (Marmar), rivals in the Wakefield Challenge Stakes at Trentham, were timed over 800m in 53 and the last 600m in 38.2. 

Pukekohe entries Cork (Mullineaux) and Lingjun Xiongfeng (Jacobsen) were paired over ground and timed from the 1200m in 1:24.5, 1:08.2 and 38.6. Also over ground, War of Succession (Bosson) shaped up well in company with Spellcraft (Kamaruddin) with 1200m in 1:19.9, 1:04.8 and 38.6, while Mosinvader (Rastrick) and Wolf Rayet (Tynan) did well to record 1:17.8, 1:02.8 and 37.6. 

Jaffira (Rastrick) and Fabulous Girl (Farr) prepared for Pukekohe with 1000m in 1:04 and 37.5, while Matakana Girl (Allen) and Caravello (Melvin) also did well to record 1:06.8 and 36.8.

Others to work over 1000m included Ess Vee Are (A Jones) and Arby (S Weatherley) who returned 1:05 and 37.5, Intrepid Girl (B Grylls) and Livid Sky (Fawcett) 1:07.5 and 39, Pure Fiction (Allen) and Pericles (Mullineaux) 1:08.4 and 38.2, Fly MY Wey (M Brosnan) 1:11.2 and 40.6, Invincibeel (Leighton) 1:05.8 and 38.2, Kind Thought (Bragg) and Tianzi (Harris) 1:09.3 and 38.5, and Stella Splendida (Gujar) 1:10.2 and 39.4.

Sense Of Timing (Bosson) and Rue de Rivoli (Leighton) were paired over 1000m in 1:06.5 and 38.2, while Rotorua Sunday entry My Annie Belle (Turner) and Carajillo (Prastiyou) were timed over 800m in a smart 50.7 and 36.2.
