Leading New Zealand 1000 Guineas prospect Molly Bloom looked on target for her final lead-up to the Riccarton classic in Saturday’s Soliloquy Stakes when she galloped stylishly at Matamata on Tuesday morning.

Working on the plough, Molly Bloom (Rastrick) was partnered by Ask Mum (Tynan) over 1000m in 1:02.4, finishing off strongly with a final 600m in 35.9. Molly Bloom had no luck when finishing fifth at Hastings a fortnight ago, but her latest work suggests she can make amends in Saturday’s filly feature at Pukekohe.

Amongst her rivals will be Oneira, who had raceday rider Ryan Elliot in the saddle when working with Astron (T Harris) over 1000m in 1:04.4 and 36.2. Oneira was freshened after finishing third in last month’s Gold Trail Stakes and won a recent trial.

Three in-form fillies from the Stephen Autridge stable heading to the Soliloquy Stakes also worked well on the plough. Tears Of Victory (Sanson) and Livid Sky (Parmar) cut out 1000m in 1:03.2 and 36.2, while Loch Katrine (Sanson) was paired with Intrepid Girl (Lammas) over 1000m in 1:04.6 and 37.

Tulsi, another filly from the centre in the Soliloquy Stakes as her 1000 Guineas lead-up, worked on the course proper, which was soft 15 metres out. She was partnered by Mali Ston (A Jones) over 1000m in 1:06.2, quickening impressively from the 600m in 36.9.

Also on the course proper, Hanalei (Parmar) worked well to lead Seajetz (King) over the final stages of 1200m in 1:19.9. The Pukekohe-bound pair completed their work with 1000m in 1:03.1 and 600m in 36.8.

Back on the plough, yet another possible Soliloquy Stakes runner, My Lips Are Sealed (Bosson) worked with Aris Aris (Allen) over 1000m in 1:03.8 and 600m in 36.2. Any rain will strengthen the claims of My Lips Are Sealed.

Cognito (Colgan) worked well ahead of the weekend with Brando (Bosson) over 1000m in a smart 1:02.4 and 35.9. Divici Belle (Winter) was another Pukekohe entry to catch the eye when she and Stella Splendida (C Grylls) cut out 1000m in 1:03.8 and 35.8.

Paisley Park (Wratten) and State Affair (Kareem) worked over ground and were timed from the 1200m in 1:19.8, 1:04.3 and 37.8. Arjay’s Flight (M Brosnan) also went over ground in preparation for his Pukekohe engagement, timed from the 1200m in 1:19.7, 1:04.4 and 37.2.

Chancellor (Yuki) had more pace on when cutting out 1200m in 1:17.3, 1:02.5 and 36.8, while Breckon Power (D Weatherley) and Myah (A Jones) prepared for New Plymouth on Friday with 1200m in 1:18.9, 1:04.5 and 37.1.

Pukekohe entry Prise De Fer (Bosson) went solo over 1000m in 1:04.4, finishing off well with 600m in 36.6, while Iffshecan (Cameron) returned 1:05.2 and 37, and Diomedes (K Pertab) 1:05.4 and 37.6.

Madam Le Fay (Dellow) had it easier over 1000m in 1:08.8 and 38.6, as did Grande Gallo (Farr) in 1:09.8 and 39.4, Calling (Prastiyou) 1:12.6 and 41.8, and Tranquil Eyes (S Singh) 1:10.5 and 41.6.

Over 800m Move To Strike (Bosson) and Kabugee (Colgan) clocked 50.7 and 36.9, while Kai Moana (Cameron) returned 55.8 and 41.4.

On the No 1 sand, Legarto (Turner) breezed over the last 800m of her work in 52.2 and 37.8. She is in good order ahead of her trip to Sydney for the Golden Eagle on Saturday week.

Lotus (Kareem) and Therapeutic (Wratten) were timed over the same ground in 53.9 and 38.8, while I Choose You (Parmar) left 1000m behind in 1:03.5 and 36.8.
