Oneira looked ready to continue in winning form at Wanganui on the weekend when she galloped stylishly at Matamata on Tuesday morning.

Most fast work took place on the plough, where Oneira (Prastiyou) and O’Learys Fillies Classic rival My Lips Sare Sealed (Gurjar) cut out 1000m in 1:03.4 and 600m in 36. It was good work by both and showed that Oneira has trained on well from her impressive Tauranga win earlier this month.

Wanganui Cup topweight Defibrillate (Kareem) did his prospects no harm when paired with Te Rapa weekend candidate Snazzytavi (Jacobson) over 1200m in 1:19.9, with the last 1000m in 1:04 and final 600m in a smart 35.7.

Eagle Technology Stakes entry Prise De Fer (Allen) got through tidy work over 1200m in 1:17.8, 1:02.4 and 36.2. Wanganui-bound Bridgerton (Prastiyou) went with Kind Thoughts (Harris) over 1200m in 1:21.8, quickening from the 1000m in 1:03.5 and 35.9.

Waitak (Rastrick) shaped up well for his Te Rapa engagement when cutting out 1000m in 1:02.7 and 35.6, while race rival Aris Aris (Gurjar) worked well with Matakana Girl (Allen) over the same ground in 1:04.9 and 36.2.

Te Rapa juvenile candidates Maracatu (Burdan) and Sister Ping (Parmar) were timed over 800m in 54.2 and 37.6. Rival Kind of Blue (Parmar) was paired with Clear Conscience (Mullineaux) over 800m in 52.2 and 37.8.

Te Rapa entries Tanganyika (Farr) and Spinning (L Singh) left 1000m behind in 1:02.8 and 36.4, while Petrucci (Parmar) took 1:04.1 and 36.4, Hayley (Mullineaux) 1:04.8 and 37.5, and Freeze Frame (Leighton) and Aotea Lad (Sheehan) 1:04.8 and 36.3.

Wanganui fillies’ feature candidate Egyptian Queen (Kamaruddin) went with Francee (Parmar) over 1000m in 1:04.8 and 36.3. Wanganui Cup entry Cork (Dellow) ended striding work with 600m in 39.2, while stablemates Shoes (Dellow) and Pericles (Mullineaux) caught the eye over 1000m in 1:01.8 and 36.2.

Divici Belle (Turner) and Bocote (McCall) completed 1000m in 1:03.4 and 36.4, Brando (Kamaruddin) recorded 1:05.2 and 37.4, Paisley Park (Wratten) and Therapeutic (B Grylls) 1:02.4 and 36, Wairau Cove (Sheehan) and Ascend The Throne (Kamaruddin) 1:01.8 and 36.2, and Chancellor (Jacobson) 1:03.7 and 37.

Silkdegrees (J Singh) reeled off 1000m in 1:01.8 and 35.9, Thatsallshewrote (Dellow) and Step In Time (Nishizuka) 1:03.8 and 36.4, while Gingerbread (Prendergast) was kept to 1:06.5 and 37.6.

On the course proper, where the ground was soft 28 metres out, Eagle Technology Stakes entry Monza (Leighton) went with Adam I Am (Fawcett) over 1000m in 1:05.5, the last 600m in a sound 37.2. Adam I Am is likely to resume at Pukekohe on Saturday week.

On the No. 1 sand, Te Rapa entries Bea A Roca (A Jones) and Ardy (Parveen) were timed over their last 800m in 49.2 and 36.8. Giacomo (S McKay) ran the same trip in 52.8 and 38.5, while Jolted (Winter) covered 1000m in 1:05.8 and 39.2 and Wolfgang (S McKay) and Final Impact (B Grylls) took 1:13.4 and 38.8.
