LOVERACING.NZ News Desk | May 20, 2025

Less than 48 hours remain to nominate a rising star or emerging leader in the racing industry to be recognised for the 2025 Industry Excellence Awards, powered by Entain.

The inaugural edition of the Awards were held last year, to celebrate and congratulate the next generation of racing participants within each racing code in New Zealand, with nominees all required to be under the age of 40.

Cambridge Stud’s Bloodstock Manager Cameron Ring was the inaugural recipient of the overall Entain Excellence Award, after earning the top spot in the Leadership Award. Ring received an additional $5,000 on top of the $10,000 for his individual category, while finalists in all nine categories received $2,000.

The same prizemoney is on offer this year, with winners of the following nine categories each receiving a $10,000 cash prize, finalists receiving $2,000, and the overall winner taking home an additional $5,000.

The revamped categories cover several areas of expertise, with Leadership Excellence, Equine License Holder Excellence, Greyhound Excellence, Dedication To Breeding Excellence, Stud/Stable/Kennel Excellence, Administration and Innovation Excellence, Care and Welfare Excellence, Newcomer Excellence, and National Racing Woman Of The Year.

If you have a high achiever or young gun in your workplace, don’t miss the opportunity to put them in the spotlight with nominations closing at 5pm on Wednesday, 21 May.
