FUNCTION CENTRE | Our event predictions for 2025
With 2025 just around the corner (how did that happen?!), we’ve rounded up a few of our predictions for some key event trends next year.

What will events look like in 2025?

With 2025 just around the corner (how did that happen?!), we’ve rounded up a few of our predictions for some key event trends next year.

1.    Innovation in refreshments
It’s not enough these days to simply keep your guests fed and watered, it’s become a dominant trend to apply some innovation to the process.  How you approach this could be anything from how they are served to creating custom items but if it’s something that gets captured by attendees and put on Instagram, you know you’re on the right track!

2.    Say Cheese!
Photo moments are here to stay. Whilst not a new trend, it’s one that we expect to see enduring throughout 2025. Event attendees love to capture the moment and if you’ve given some thought to a cool photo backdrop or picturesque venue (we can help with that!), then you’re already several steps ahead of the game.

Want to apply a twist on the standard backdrop?  Try for an immersive experience where people can interact with a ‘scene’ to get unique images sure to go the distance and keep your event (or brand) front of mind.

3.    All surprises are good surprises, right?
Event attendees are expecting more and more of their experience (it’s hard to keep up!) and a nice way of leaving a lasting positive impression is to add a surprise element into the mix.

This could be something as easy as complementary drinks at the end of the day at a conference or something more labour intensive (but impressive) like personalised ‘take home’ items that resonate with your audience or guest list.

4.    Changes to traditional layouts/format
Curved tables and aisles are having a moment - as is their close relation, circular seating for ceremonies, presentations and dinners.  It’s a great way to elevate your next event and it doesn’t just look cool, it’s actually a great way to ensure people have face time with a wider group of people.  The flipside?  It requires more space than a traditional layout…lucky we’ve got plenty of that!

5.    Going green!
Nature is in – haven’t you heard?

Giving your event attendees a touch of nature, be it with a lovely green vista from your chosen event space or bringing the outdoors in – there’s a big trend to taking events from a sterile, concrete environment to a more natural location.

We like to see events that make the most of our expansive green spaces (hello – we have a whole racetrack!) as well as giving some considered thought to the addition of hire trees/greenery inside our event spaces to keep the vibes cohesive.
