MATAMATA
My Lips Are Sealed looked ready to add to her formline this weekend when she galloped impressively at Matamata on Tuesday morning.
Most fast work took place on the plough, with fog ruling out the timing of some gallops and sections of others.
My Lips Are Sealed (Hutchings) was paired with Family Ties (Bosson) over 1000m in 1:03.2, finishing off well with 600m in 36.2. My Lips Are Sealed has trained on pleasingly since her return to form in the Lisa Chittick Champagne Stakes and will seek further honours in Sunday’s Cuddle Stakes at Trentham. Any rain will enhance her prospects.
Family Ties is entered in the Rating 75 1400 at Saturday’s local meeting and looks an improver from her fresh-up run, when she suffered interference at a crucial stage.
Sorghaghtani (Paswan) was another to catch the eye as she prepared for the weekend with Lotus (Garcia) over 1000m in 1:03.3 and 36.6. Sorghaghtani, who has won her last two starts, is entered for the Cuddle Stakes as well as the open 1600 on her home track.
Last-start winner Egyptian Queen (Hassman) was her usual enthusiastic self as she cut out a solo 1000m in 1:03, the last 600m in a slick 35.5. Stablemates Savoir Faire (Bosson) and One True King (C Grylls) also prepared for the local meeting with strong work, timed from the 1200m in 1:16.8, 1:02.4 and 36.8.
Sagunto (Fawcett), a rival for Savoir Faire in Saturday’s open 2000m, ran a strong solo 1200m in 1:17.3, 1:02.5 and 36.3. Stablemate and race rival Wolfgang (Hashizume) was paired with Scaredoheights (Fawcett) over 1000m in 1:03.8 and 37.2.
Tristar (Tynan) and General Menari (L Singh) were in good form ahead of their weekend engagements as they cut out 1000m in 1:03.8 and 36.6. O’Hello (Mullineaux) followed over the same ground in 1:03.6 and 36.8, while Arrazola (Danis) and Brazen Affair (Berge) recorded 1:04 and 36.5.
Balance Of Power (Bosson) prepared for Trentham in company with Legend Of Kings (O’Toole) over 1200m in 1:18.2, 1:03 and 36.5. Others to work over ground included Zantabulous (Hassman) who wasted no time as she cut out 1200m in 1:15.6, 1:02.8 and 36.5.
Trentham entries St Giles (Harris) and Sir You Can Dance (Bragg) got through good work over 1000m in 1:03.4 and 36.8. Charmrose (Hutchings) worked away steadily to complete 1000m in 1:06, quickening for a final 600m in 36.7.
Burnerphone (Goodwin) and Up With Ace (Sandeep) were unextended over 1200m in 1:27, with the only sectional possible their final 800m in 53.4. Uptown (Bosson) and Cease And Desist (C Grylls) had more speed on as they prepared for Saturday’s three-year-old 1600m with 1200m in 1:18.6, 1:03.4 and 36.8.
Atmospheric (S Collett) got through easy work over 1000m in 1:09.6 and 38.8, while Force Of Law (Smith-Chaston) and New Recruit (Nishizuka) ran the same distance in 1:07.4 and 37.6.
Amongst those who could not be timed, weekend entries Sarti (Hashizume) and Legally Binding (Bosson) emerged from the fog travelling well at the end of 1000m.
