Qali Al Farrasha and Zantabulous prepared for Anzac weekend stakes assignments with solid work at Matamata on Tuesday morning.

Galloping 15 metres out on a very heavy course proper, Qali Al Farrasha (Bosson) and Zantabulous (Melvin) were paired over 1200m in 1:26.8, with their last 1000m in 1:08.4 and the final 600m in 42.2. It was sound work by the Te Akau mares, with Qali Al Farrasha looking in good order for an improved effort in Saturday’s Travis Stakes at Te Rapa and Zantabulous well-placed to continue her solid form in the Anzac 1600 at Otaki on Friday.

Stablemates Avantaggia (Hassman) and Drops Of God (C Grylls) were also in good form as they prepared for the Cambridge Breeders’ Stakes with 1000m in 1:11.2, finishing off well over the last 600m in 41.4. Race rivals Quello Dolce (S Collett) and Cheerio (Harris) covered the same ground in 1:13.8, picking up momentum over the last 600m in 41.6. They are amongst a number of former Cody Cole-trained horses now with Kurtis Pertab.

Ruby Rush (Doyle), an entry for Otaki and Te Rapa, ran a solo 1000m in 1:13.5 and 42, while More Bliss (P Singh) and Ivy’s Dancer (Loki) covered the same ground in 1:11.6 and 41.9. Bulgari (Doyle) and Chahoo (M McNab) were well held in their 1000m workout in 1:1:14.6 and 43.1.

Otaki acceptor Landlock (Harris) got through his work well over 1000m in 1:10.2 and 41.6, followed by another heading south, Party Time (S Collett), over the same distance in 1:13.5 and 43.4.

Others to work over 1000m included Legally Binding (Hussain) and System Of Play (M McNab), who returned 1:12.3 and 42.8, Sperlari (S Collett) and Part Time Lover (Prastiyou) 1:14.8 and 42.8, and Atmospheric (Harris) 1:13.8 and 43.6. Places To Be (Sheehan) was timed over her last 600m in a respectable 41.2, and Perfect Ram (L Pertab) returned 44.2.

On the No.2 sand, She’s All That (Doyle) and General Minari (Loki) did sound work in preparation for Te Rapa over 1000m in 1:05.4 and 37.5.

Romilly (C Grylls) looked well ahead of the weekend as she cut out an unextended 1000m in 1:09.4 and 38.6. Ribkraka (Leighton) ran the same distance in 1:07 and 38.5.
